I’m Animesh Kumar Mishra, Director of Engineering in Bangalore. Fourteen years in, mostly in distributed data systems, real-time risk and fraud platforms, and the messy engineering economics that surround them.

The career arc, briefly:

  • 2019 – present — data platform serving 30+ analysts and 10+ data scientists; co-built the Risk Management Platform underpinning ~₹150 Cr ARR across Loans and Credit Cards; user identity / consent platform at >2 M users and ~50% MAU; AWS cost-engineering returning $600 K+ a year.
  • 2015 – 2019 — six microservices from scratch on a BNPL platform; a real-time risk engine using device, location, and velocity features; user-behaviour streams into a downstream ML service.
  • Earlier — enterprise and networking software. Java, Scala, Spring Boot, Akka, PlayFramework, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Debezium. Postgres, TimescaleDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Redis — the polyglot zoo.
  • Education — B.Tech CS, Hindustan College of Science & Technology (UPTU), 2009. PG-level Advanced Certification in Deep Learning Foundations and Applications, IISc Bangalore, 2022.

This blog is the public worklog while I cross from production data systems into ML, LLM, and GPU internals. The angle and the quality bar are spelled out in Why this blog exists.
